Why it is good to buy from small businesses – May edition.

For May I will be featuring two artists, from whom I have bought from before. Their drawings, stickers and trinkets can be found at a local shop called de Zilveren Vos. If you wanna do fun workshops like magic potion making, figurine painting, they are the place to be.

Cloverpunch – Artprint and stickers

I love Cloverpunch’s style. Last year I got prints featuring the white cat when I visited de Zilveren Vos. Still not framed, bad person I am. My dream is a wall with art prints.
When I am going to Japan, I want to buy an Inu Hariko (one of the stickers) and I keep forgetting the name. So I ordered it, to be stuck on my travel diary as a reminder. The art print looks like it was coloured in markers and I just love bright colours, it is a demon television haha. The Katamari Damashi sticker on the bottom left was a gift but as a Katamari fan, this was a most welcome and fitting gift.

Catzero – stickers!

You can see that Catzero is massive dungeons & dragons fan and incorporates it in her stickers. I love her style and her humor. And these statement stickers are the bomb. Afcourse we goblins are against bigots and I need to show this off :D. The Brushbuddies are from the Witch Hat Atelier manga/anime. I haven’t watched it yet, but I have been hearing good things about it.
On one of my previous shopping trips to de Zilveren Vos, I had bought a D20 two-sided key chain from her. As a D&D-player myself, and frequent thrower of 1’s on a D20 it was a little reminder that games should always be fun.

Happy to give my support to Dutch based artists. Keep on creating!

My weeklies: 23-2026

Another week passed, and another meltdown happened. On Tuesday it was so bad that I was angry crying without being able to stop that I finally made the call to book an appointment with my GP. Asked my husband to come with me and I have been practicing what to say in my head since Thursday. Exhausting, finally gave up on Friday and head feel clearer now.
I read that permimenopause makes the symptomes worse so that is one thing I need to tell my GP that I am going through that already. Maybe it has an effect, maybe not. I’m not a medical specialist.

I kept feeling bad about the things that I didn’t do, and that was not helping my overall mood. I was feeling depressed over it. But I want to focus more on the things that I did manage today in my day to day life, so I’ve written them down in a little book. I let my husband read it and he also thinks it is a good idea to keep track of the positive things.

My little book of wins, The photo stickers were made by yours truly.

One of the wins for the week was finally putting the art cards that I got months ago, in 2025 even in frames. I saw these nice coloured frames that fit the style of the cards. I do love anthropomorphised animals. And these ballerina cats are just the cutest.

Ballerina kitties

And what’s even better, they are already up on a wall. Putting them in frames is one thing but actually hanging them on the wall is a whole different game. Now everytime I walk down the stairs I will see them :).

During the week I had purchased a few cozy games on the Nintendo store after a YouTuber (can’t recall her name >__<) mentioned there were big sales. One of the games bought was Thank Goodness You’re Here! I had already seen this game pass on other platforms and 50% off is a great deal.

Thank Goodness You’re here! – Switch

The artstyle is quirky, the jokes very cheeky at times and solving the puzzles is highly entertaining. I did not play the first playthrough in dialect, but I will do that the next round.
Bummer that we don’t get any throphies on the Switch, I would have loved the “Found all singing rats” one. XD Also the slapping of the fish mongers fish so they spit out their cigarettes was quite fun. On Friday I finished the game, with an ending very fitting with all the running around you did for other people. I still feel bad for the guy we kept going through the chimey. XD

With a chaotic start of the week, I feel that it mellowed down at the end. GP appointment is up next week. We will see what he advises. What I do know is that call-center and open plan offices are the worst for my mental health. And you are only able to mask your discomfort for a while.
